Vadim Vladimirovich Menshikov (1931—2014) was a Soviet and Russian scientist and political figure, a Doctor of Medical Sciences (1965), and a professor. He contributed significantly to the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure and was awarded the State Prize of the USSR in science and technology in 1980. He worked in various capacities in medical institutions and held notable positions, including rector of the State Central Institute of Physical Culture and first deputy chairman of the Soviet International Fund for Mercy and Health. Menshikov passed away in 2014.
