Nikola Simić Cigo was a Serbian police officer born on April 3, 1957, in Knin. He served as a commander of the Poskok unit and was a member of the Special Operations and Anti-Terrorist units. Active during the Croatian War (1991–1995) and the 1999 NATO bombing of FR Yugoslavia, he retired after the disbandment of the Special Operations Unit in 2003. He passed away on February 11, 2021, in Belgrade, following a battle with COVID-19, and was buried on February 14, 2021. A memorial bust was unveiled in his honor in November 2022.
