Dmitry Sergeevich Daev (1927–2021) was a Soviet and Russian geophysicist, holding a doctorate in technical sciences since 1972. He served as a professor and was the dean of the Geophysical Faculty of MGRI from 1975 to 1978. Daev was co-author of the well-known textbook 'Theory of Fields Applied in Exploration Geophysics' (1985) and was an expert in high-frequency electric logging and field theory. He was recognized as an honored figure of science and technology in the Russian Federation and was a member of EAGO and EAGE.
