Andreu Canet i Català was a survivor of the Lleva del Biberó who fought in the battles of Segre and Ebre. Captured by fascist forces during the Spanish Republican defeat, he was held in a concentration camp where he was subjected to forced labor until 1943. After marrying Maria Cinta Pinyol, he worked in a kiosk selling and repairing fountain pens and lighters. In retirement, he dedicated time to speaking at schools about his experiences during the war to ensure they were not forgotten.
