Evgeny Akimovich Karpov (1949—2018) was a Soviet military leader and educator, holding a candidate of military sciences title. He attained the rank of Colonel General in 2004. He served as the head of the Military Academy of Communications from 1998 to 2002 and as the leader of the Communications Troops of the Russian Federation, acting as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from 2005 to 2008. He was recognized as an honored worker of communications in Russia.
