Murad Magometovich Kuriyev (born April 9, 1956, Norilsk) is a Russian historian, writer, and journalist. He co-authored and led the programs 'Hero of the Day' and 'Freedom of Speech' on NTV from 1997 to 2002, and headed the program 'Week' with Marianna Maximovskaya on REN TV from 2003 to 2014. He is a member of the Russian Academy of Television since 2010 and specializes in the modern history of Europe and the Napoleonic Wars.
