Araz Mukhtarov, born on February 15, 1985, is an Azerbaijani sambo and judo athlete. He was the world champion in sambo for youth in 2004 and a silver medalist in the Azerbaijan judo championship in 2008. Mukhtarov also won the world championship in sambo for juniors in 2006, and secured bronze medals in the European and World Sambo Championships in 2008. He competed in judo at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Belgrade and fought in the 74 kg weight category in sambo. His coach was Jaykhun Bayramov.
