Yuriy (Yurko) Naumovych Gundych was a Ukrainian Soviet writer and translator born on January 25, 1906, in Nosivka, Ukraine. He worked as a journalist and edited various newspapers and journals. He was also an editor of the republican teachers' newspaper 'Soviet Education'. His notable works include children's stories and translations from multiple languages including Russian and Bulgarian. Gundych died in Kyiv on May 12, 1972.
