Suren Karo Zakaryan is an Armenian composer and pianist, born on December 11, 1956, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR. He is the son of Karo Zakaryan and has been a member of the Composers Union of Armenia since 1986, serving on the board since 2013. Suren completed his education at the Moscow State Conservatory in piano (1981) and postgraduate studies (1983), as well as composition at the Yerevan State Conservatory (1985). He has been teaching at the Yerevan State Conservatory since 1987 and became the head of the piano department in 2002.
