Joseph Ichkhanian (February 19, 1931 - March 29, 2016) was a Lebanese-Armenian musician, guitarist, composer, educator, and professor. Born in Beirut, he studied guitar under Vruyr Mazmanyan before receiving a scholarship from the Spanish government. Ichkhanian graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and taught at the Beirut Conservatory, founding the guitar department there. He actively performed in Europe and the Middle East and held masterclasses in Armenia. He authored books on modern guitar teaching methods and was awarded several honors for his contributions to music.
