Proteo was a German Shepherd rescue and police dog who served from June 16, 2013, to February 10, 2023. Trained by the Mexican Ministry of National Defense, he specialized in locating explosives and narcotics as well as in rescue operations. Proteo participated in numerous missions across Mexico and other countries, including responding to natural disasters like earthquakes and landslides. Notably, he aided in efforts during the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, assisting in recovering bodies and rescuing survivors from rubble.
