Corneliu Adameșteanu was a Romanian surgeon and physician, recognized as the father of pulmonary tuberculosis surgery in Romania. Born on May 10, 1905, in Milcovățu, he had a notable medical career and achieved a doctorate in medicine. He was the second child of priest Ion Adameșteanu and priestess Maria Adameșteanu. Adameșteanu was married to Victoria Dobrescu and had two daughters, Carmen and Sanda-Victoria. He passed away on November 22, 1960, in Craiova.
