Active in the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists since its inception in 1929, he faced imprisonment due to his affiliations. After leading military operations, he was arrested in 1948 and sentenced to death in 1950 for his actions against Polish forces. His tenure is marked by significant violent confrontations during Ukraine's national struggles.
