Janez Strašek was a Slovenian Catholic priest, member of the Lazarists, martyr, and Servant of God, born on December 11, 1906, in Slovenia. He was ordained on August 13, 1933, and served in Slovenia and Serbia. He was parish priest in Svetice and managed the parish of Ozalj. He was murdered on March 30, 1947, due to his faith after morning mass. His grave, marked with a bust and monument, is located near the Paulist monastery in Svetice. Beatification proceedings were initiated in 2021.
