Kateryna Hryhorivna Hordenska (née Chemeris) is a Ukrainian linguist born on November 17, 1948, in Melyushky, Poltava Oblast. She specializes in grammar and earned her Doctor of Philology degree in 1991, followed by becoming a professor in 1993. Hordenska serves as the head of the grammar department at the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She is recognized for her contributions to linguistics and received the O. O. Potebnia Award from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2005.
