Petro Petrovych Kostryba (May 25, 1903 - April 19, 1979) was a Ukrainian linguist and educator born in Old Yagilnitsa, now part of Chortkov Raion. He held a Master's degree in Philosophy in Philological Sciences (1935) and became a Candidate of Philological Sciences in 1947 without defending a dissertation. He was the brother of Teofil Kostryba and contributed significantly to the field of linguistics during his lifetime.
