Savelyi P. Lifienko (born December 18, 1931) is a Ukrainian geneticist who specializes in breeding, seed production, physiology, and agronomic practices of winter wheat. He holds a doctorate in agricultural sciences and became a professor in 1996. Lifienko has been recognized as an academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences since 1990. He is the head of the laboratory for breeding intensive wheat varieties at the Odesa Selection and Genetic Institute, which is part of the National Center for Seed Science and Variety Studies.
