He graduated in 1928 from the Kyiv Institute of People's Education and later worked at Kyiv National University, where he headed the Department of Semiconductor Physics and served as a professor. Notably, he discovered the phenomena of depletion and enrichment in semiconductor contact layers in 1938. He defended his doctoral thesis in 1956 and was a laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in science and technology in 1970.
