Mykhailo Illiich Pankiv (September 9, 1940 - October 31, 2021) was a Ukrainian historian, ethnographer, local historian, museum worker, and writer. He held a degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences and was a prominent cultural figure in Ukraine. Pankiv was involved in the preservation and promotion of traditional Ukrainian culture, contributing to various scientific fields including ethnography and historical toponymy. He worked extensively at the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Local History Museum and later as a lecturer at Prykarpattia National University.
