Valeriy Grigoriyovych Skotny (April 22, 1948 – November 5, 2011) was a Ukrainian educator and rector of Drohobych State Pedagogical University. He was a cultural scholar, Doctor of Philosophy (2003), and professor. Skotny was an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine and the European Academy of Human Problems. He received the title of Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine in 2001.
