Pavlo Dem'yanovych Chemerskyi (1918-1989) was a Ukrainian lirnyk. He lost his sight in an accident at age 13 and studied at a school for the visually impaired in Dnipropetrovsk. He graduated from Dnipropetrovsk Music College in 1940 and later attended Kyiv Conservatory. From 1950, he worked in a school for the blind, leading a folk orchestra. Chemerskyi learned to play the bandura and hurdy-gurdy and performed traditional songs across Ukraine, participating in cultural events and gatherings throughout his life.
