Matviy Mykhailovych Shestopal (November 7, 1917 – August 20, 1986) was a Ukrainian writer, journalist, scholar, translator, and educator. He served as acting dean of the Journalism Faculty at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv from 1955 to 1957. With a PhD in philology and a role as associate professor, he authored several monographs, books, and articles. His academic interests included international journalism, the history of Ukraine, and Ukrainian folklore. He was buried in the Lisovyi Cemetery in Kyiv.
