Petro Hryhorovych Shyshchenko (born February 8, 1936) is a Ukrainian scholar in geography and ecology. He holds a Doctorate in Geography and is a professor and corresponding member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. Elected as an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 1996, he has had a distinguished career in academic positions, including roles as dean and head of the Department of Physical Geography and Nature Protection, and has made significant contributions to landscape analysis and regional planning.
