Jreis Samawi (December 22, 1956 - March 10, 2021) was a Jordanian poet, writer, media professional, and intellectual. He emigrated to the United States with his family at an early age, where he studied English literature, philosophy, and media communications. Upon returning to Jordan, he worked for Jordan Television, hosting several programs, and served as the director of the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts until 2006. He was also the Secretary General of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, and his poetry has been translated into multiple languages.
