Samir Hosny (August 7, 1948 - November 14, 2012) was an Egyptian actor who graduated in 1973 from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. He began acting in 1974 with his first work being the series 'Tariq al-Nour'. While he gained significant fame in the Arab world, his television presence diminished over time. His last artistic work was the play 'Wallah zaman' in 2010, following 'Minin Ajeeb Nas' in 2008. He is best known for the play 'Ostaz Mazika', co-starring with Samir Ghanem. He died after suffering from acute brain hemorrhage.
