Петър Христов Илиев was a Bulgarian officer and military figure, serving in both the Kingdom of Bulgaria and the People's Republic of Bulgaria, holding the rank of lieutenant general. He was one of the few active Bulgarian officers before September 9, 1944, who were members of the Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP), which was then operating underground. He participated in the communist resistance during World War II and was a key figure in the September 9 coup of 1944 as well as in the subsequent Patriotic War of Bulgaria against Nazi Germany from 1944 to 1945.
