Петър Ангелов Кърпаров was a Bulgarian musician and trumpeter, considered the founder of the trumpet school in Bulgaria. Born in the village of Băta, he graduated from the State Conservatory in 1948. He served as the first trumpeter in the Sofia National Opera from 1945 to 1956 and was a member of the Bulgarian Spiritual Quartet. After studying in Prague, he taught at the Conservatory using his methodology and wrote numerous studies for the trumpet. He became a full professor in 1954 and had several notable students.
