Стоян Ставру is a Bulgarian lawyer and philosopher, holding a doctorate in civil and family law (2009), contemporary philosophy (2015), and philosophy of science (2021). He teaches bio-law and medical law, being the first in Bulgaria to do so. An author of the first comprehensive two-volume book on bio-law in Bulgaria, his work has addressed critical issues such as the legal status of the unborn, surrogate motherhood implications, treatment of stillborns, and palliative care alternatives to euthanasia.
