Vasyl Onyssymovych Zahoruiko (December 24, 1927 – February 27, 2003) was a notable specialist in ship energy. He obtained his Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in 1974 and became a professor in 1977. He graduated from the Odesa Institute of Marine Engineers in 1956 and worked at the Black Sea Shipping Company from 1956 to 1960. From 1960 to 2003, he served at Odesa Maritime University, including roles as rector from 1979 to 1989 and professor until his passing. His research focused on the thermodynamics and thermophysics of moist materials.
