Uri (Michael) Akavia was a company commander in the 74th Battalion during the Yom Kippur War, where he was killed in action. Born on January 22, 1952, in Haifa, he was an active member of the Scouts and the Youth Movement. He briefly studied economics at the Technion before enlisting in the armored corps. After excelling in his training, he quickly rose through the ranks, eventually commanding a platoon and later a company. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Valor for his leadership during the critical battles in the Golan Heights.
