Александр Михайлович Васильев was a Soviet Russian designer of mine anti-submarine systems. He was born on December 28, 1928, in Khokhly, modern-day Kurgan Oblast. Vasilyev was recognized for his contributions to the field, receiving the State Prize of the USSR in 1978. He passed away on July 30, 2006, in Saint Petersburg.
