Galina Tauyekelkizy Nurkina, born on October 10, 1931, in Pavlodar, is a linguist and a PhD candidate in philology (1973). She completed her studies at the Faculty of Philology at KazMU in 1955. From 1955 to 1973, she was a lecturer and head of the Russian language department at Semey Pedagogical Institute. Since 1978, she has been the head of the Russian language department and an associate professor at Almaty Girls' Pedagogical Institute. She has published approximately ten scientific articles focusing on bilingualism in Kazakh and Russian and teaching methodologies for the Russian language.
