Gennady Afanasyevich Shchokolov is a Kazakh educator and fencing coach, born on January 25, 1948, in the Akzhar village of the Semey region. He graduated from the N.K. Krupskaya Semey State Pedagogical Institute in 1969 and served in the Soviet Army. Shchokolov taught mathematics and physics and later became a prominent fencing coach, contributing to the training of Asian Games champion Sergey Shabalin. He holds the title of Honored Coach of Kazakhstan and served as a captain in the reserves.
