Zhenis Rakhmetollauly Kashkinov (1942-2005) was a Kazakh poet and journalist born in the Aktoyay district of Karaganda. He graduated from KazMU in 1964 and worked at the Leninshil Zhas newspaper and later as head of the literature department at Kazakh Radio from 1965 to 1985. An author of numerous poetry collections, his works have been translated into several languages. Kashkinov received multiple awards and was recognized as an Honorary Citizen of the Aktogay district. He was awarded the Kazakhstan Union of Journalists Award and a medal for his labor achievements.
