Petr Afanasyevich Kashpurov was a Soviet major and deputy commander of a regiment during World War II. After graduating from a farm technicum, he worked at a grain farm before joining the military in 1936. He fought on the Eastern Front and was noted for his valor in battles, particularly during the Dnieper crossing. He received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously for his bravery. Kashpurov died in battle near Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, on February 15, 1944, and is buried in Apostolove, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
