Born on December 8, 1935, he became a Doctor of Biological Sciences in 1989 and an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan in 1996. A prominent figure in agriculture, he developed biological and selective models for multiple varieties of wheat and authored over 620 scientific works including 12 monographs. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to agricultural science.
