Serik Shayahmetuly Akymbekov (born November 28, 1949) is a Kazakh public figure. He graduated from the Kazakh State Agricultural Institute in 1971 and the Almaty Higher Party School in 1981. His career includes positions as an agronomist, secretary of the Komsomol committee, and chief of various committees in Taldykorgan region. He served as Deputy Head of the Agricultural Department of the Kazakhstan Communist Party Central Committee from 1988 to 1989 and became the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan in 1996.
