Temir Gabdollauly Tikishev, born on July 26, 1938, in the West Kazakhstan region, is an oboist and educator. He graduated from the Orenburg Music College in 1957 and studied at the Alma-Ata Conservatory. Tikishev was recognized as a distinguished artist of Kazakhstan in 1977. He contributed to the development of oboe performance in Kazakhstan and introduced the French system of oboe playing. He served as a teacher at the A. Zhubanov Republican Music School and the Almaty Conservatory. He toured several countries with Kazakhstan's symphony orchestra.
