Темірболат Тайырұлы Ахметов, born on February 7, 1947, in Kokshetau, is a Kazakh writer and member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan since 2001. He graduated from the Karaganda State Medical Institute in 1971 and served as deputy chief physician at the sanitary-epidemiological station in the Sh. Ualikhanov district. Between 1976 and 1997, he worked for the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. Since May 1997, he has been the head of the 'Barys' security and detective agency.
