Tursyn Kudakeldiuly Zhurtbay is a Kazakh writer, Doctor of Philology, and expert on Abay, Auezov, and Alash. Born on August 15, 1951, in Shagan, he worked at various publications including 'Zhetysu' newspaper from 1974 to 1990. He served as a scientific researcher and director at the M. Auezov Museum from 1990 to 1998, was a doctoral student and lecturer at KazNU from 1998 to 2001, and since 2001, he has been the director of the Otyrar Research Center.
