Tolen D. Kayupov (March 12, 1929 - April 7, 1962) was a shepherd from the Kegen district of Almaty region, Kazakhstan. He worked at the Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences' Kurchatov Experimental Base since 1941. A member of the CPSU from 1956, he focused on breeding the Kazakh Arkar-Merino sheep and ensuring proper care and nutrition under scientific guidance. He became a laureate of the USSR State Prize in 1950 when the breed was officially recognized.
