Qali Zhantileuov (1902, Oрал Province - 1993) was a renowned Kazakh singer and dombyra player, recognized as a People's Artist of Kazakhstan. He started playing the dombyra at the age of five, influenced by teacher Tolezh and further improving his skills with famous performers like Nurtazi and Mamen. He won first place at the first All-Kazakhstan folk performers festival in 1934 and became one of the founding instructors at the folk instruments department of the Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory in 1944. Many young dombyra players sought his mentorship.
