He graduated from Kazakh National University in 1982 and held several prominent positions, including heading the Russian section of the Writers' Union and serving as the president of the 'Altyn Gasyr' cultural association. He authored several literary works and translations and was actively involved in promoting Kazakh culture until his death on July 9, 2016.
