He began showing artistic talent early, playing in a local orchestra. After a challenging period of deportation, he achieved fame for his recordings with the Doina Banatului ensemble, especially for his popular song 'Gugulan cu car cu mere.' Chepețan toured internationally and became a beloved figure in Banat's folk music scene, collaborating with various notable artists until his retirement in 1989. He passed away on April 1, 2014, in Caransebeș.
