Petre Teacă is a Romanian general born on November 5, 1934, in Valea Iașului, Argeș County. He graduated from the Infantry Officers School in 1955 and the Military Academy between 1966-1969. He served as the commander of the 9th Border Brigade and later led the Border Troops Command from July 1987 to July 1990. Teacă is known for ordering fire against a Belgian journalist on December 25, 1989, resulting in multiple casualties, an act deemed unjustified. He became a major general shortly thereafter and continued service until his retirement in October 1995.
