Baba-zadə Baba Qurbanqulu oğlu was an eminent Azerbaijani geologist and oilman, born on April 25, 1911, in Baku. He made significant contributions to geology and mineralogy, earning the title of Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences in 1962. He was a member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences as a corresponding member since 1959, and was honored as a Hero of Socialist Labor in 1944 for his contributions. He passed away on August 18, 1962, in Baku.
