Əbülfəz Qasımov (pseudonym: Əbülfəz Bərəkət) is an Azerbaijani publicist and playwright born on December 20, 1931, in Ordubad, Nakhchivan ASSR. He became a member of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan in 1994. Qasımov is a Doctor of Economic Sciences (1970) and a professor (1971), serving as the head of a department at Azerbaijan State Economic University. He was honored as an Honored Scientist in 1987 and received the 'Qızıl qələm' prize in 2000.
