Viktar Mikalayevič Šymuk (April 2, 1933 – September 18, 1998) was a Belarusian writer and translator. He worked as editor for several publications after finishing his education in journalism at Belarusian State University in 1957. His literary career began in 1949, and he was involved with multiple newspapers and literary journals, including ‘Literature and Art’. A member of the Writers' Union of the USSR since 1964, his work significantly contributed to Belarusian literature.
