Sumbat Khachaturovich Arzumanyan (November 17, 1917 – June 17, 2003) was a leader of the partisan movement in Brest region during World War II. He joined the CPSU in 1946 and graduated from Chernivtsi University in 1959. Serving on the front since July 1941, he became a commander in the partisan brigade named after I.V. Stalin from October 1943 to March 1944. After the war, he worked in the KGB and later in economic roles in Chernivtsi and Brest. He authored the memoir 'The Land Was Burning' in 1974.
