Yura Poqosyan was an Armenian field commander and terrorist, known for his involvement in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. He was born on April 8, 1961, in Kotovo, Volgograd Oblast, and became a notable figure during the conflict. Poqosyan was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Armenia in 1996. He was killed in action on June 12, 1992, during a battle against the Azerbaijani army in the Nakhichavanli village area of the Khojaly district.
